Focus will be on speaker’s faces more than slides, but we can send slides to attendees

Planning & Development
Ainslie-Lincoln will be getting a mural. Process is moving quickly.
Plans to create an art-centric area for the neighborhood to extend
New businesses aren’t opening for the most part due to pandemic worries
Outreach/fundraising
Annual event has added a new member, no additional fundraising
Farmer’s Market has been going well, some management be applied to keep things safe regarding Covid restrictions
Census
-40% of city hasn’t completed census, deadline is end of month.
HOLS should send out a message to push for completion
Census is important for Lincoln Square and the whole city of Chicago for Federal funding and representation
Beautification
Clean-up scheduled for October 17th
Hoping both aldermen can attend
Possibly reach out to other leaders and make it a large event
10:00-2:00pm are designated times at the moment
Hoping to create a clean-up in November
Street cleaning ends by November, but leaves still falling in past years due to global warming
Events like this can be done fairly easily with social distancing and mask wearing
First ward council meeting was last week. First since February.
Alderman Martin looking to possibly set up “block captains” to look out for their respective blocks, report issues
Can HOLS contribute?
Could lead to increased membership, donations.
