Master Plan update
Rollout potentially in a few months, including funding information
Leland Greenway - considering changing to a one-way heading East from Lincoln to Damen to create room for bike lane and changes proposed - does HOLS support/have any initial feedback/red flags to send to alderman?
There are still too many unknowns for HOLS to comment. Local residents might oppose the change to a one-way street. We will continue to stay engaged.
5. Outreach Committee Report
Newsletter deadline - first Saturday of the month and then hoping to get out mid-month - please email with “Newsletter” in subject line. Ashley updated website with Dan & Brent’s pics
Ashley updated Meeting Minutes on website - can Secretary do this moving forward? Unless we can figure out a way to automate it?
Yes
6. Beautification Committee Report
Community Garden
Met with Andi from Matt Martin’s office
Will be contacting building owner for potential future mural
May be able to add more lights on existing Western lightpole lower down as well as alley poles to add more light at night - waiting to hear back from Josh on that
Was able to have pest control monitor the perimeter for rat issue but can’t go inside - will poison the soil. Spoke to Josie from pest control and she recommended we buy at least quarter-inch thick hardwire cloth and bury it six to seven inches deep along all of fence perimeter - waiting to hear back from Andi on if that is something the city can help with for the cost/labor of that
Got the ok to put up signs as long as they’re not hanging - can just attach to the fence - won’t need a permit
All plots have been renewed and six new members added
Spring cleanup - did last weekend with shed building
New Shed!
Space for our cleanup tools as well - lockbox code is in our password list for future reference
Had to get TaskRabbit person to help put it together - took 4 hours on Saturday and 1 hour on Sunday- will forward bill to treasurer for reimbursement = $338.25
Proposed cost was = $864.44
Overall cost once we return the anchoring kit and tool organizer and add in taskrabbit fees = $1,087.87
Still need to do:
